Zhang Shuai won the tournament, where a wild card to the Australian Open was played among tennis players from the Asia-Pacific region.
Shuai was seeded second. During the competition, she passed No. 569 Akiko Ohmae (6:1, 6:3), No. 480 Ren Yufei (6:4, 6:0), No. 305 Xiaodi Yu (6:4, 6:3).
In the final, she beat No. 539 in singles and No. 36 in doubles Hanyu Guo - 7:6, 0:6, 7:5.
Shuai is now the 213th racket in the world in singles and 27th in doubles. In September, she broke a 24-match losing streak - the longest in the history of both tours. She hasn`t had a singles win since January 2023.
The men`s wild card was won by Kasidit Samrey. He will be Thailand`s first representative in the Australian Open men`s singles draw since 2012.
