Major motorsport publications confirm Newey`s sensational departure from Red Bull.
As previously reported in Germany, Red Bull may issue a statement on the resignation of the head of the design bureau, Adrian Newey, as early as today, April 30.


Autosport sources also say an announcement will take place soon, potentially before this weekend`s Miami Grand Prix, May 3-5. Newey has already submitted his resignation papers.


It is alleged that the specialist will remain at his post for some time and will leave the team no later than the beginning of 2025.


Newey explained the reasons for the decision in a letter to management. A key factor was the soured relationship with Red Bull boss Christian Horner in light of a power struggle and a scandal involving allegations of inappropriate behavior by the manager.


Newey`s dissatisfaction with Horner`s assessment of his work is also mentioned. So, at the end of last year, Christian said in an interview that the technical team led by Pierre Vache performs excellently and does not depend on Adrian.


At the same time, the head of the team mentioned that Manchester United experienced the departure of its main star, Eric Cantona, in 1997.


Autosport reports that Newey`s future is unknown and lists five obvious options: a transfer to Mercedes, Aston Martin, McLaren, Ferrari or leaving Formula 1. Scuderia seems to be the most logical option for the publication.
