Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has confirmed Daniel Ricciardo`s move to the team as one of the reserve pilots.


Ricciardo, leaving McLaren, has decided to take a break for the 2023 season, so that he can then try to return to F-1 as early as 2024.


At the same time, in the same interview, Marco noted that Liam Lawson will be the main reserve driver for Red Bull and Alpha Tauri - he will combine these duties with performances in the Japanese Super Formula:


Riccardo will be our third pilot. We have a lot of sponsors, we need to hold a lot of demonstration runs and other events. And of course, Ricciardo is one of the most suitable and qualified pilots that we could invite.


As for Lawson, he, unfortunately, did not have a good season in Formula 2 as we expected. But he has already shown himself well in work in Alpha Tauri. He has potential. Next year he will compete in the Japanese Super Formula and will also be a reserve driver for Red Bull and Alpha Tauri. And then everything depends on him.
